If I had to guess, I would say I’ve been thinking about some form of this idea for the last 2-3 years (maybe longer), and I’ve finally done something about it!

What is the show?
This podcast connects listeners with amazing teachers, role models, and mentors. I want younger actors to learn from those who have been doing this for decades—to see exactly how others approach the work, what decisions and resources have made the biggest impacts on their artistic lives, and to hear the struggles and successes from others in the business. I want to help people know what to do EARLIER in their career.
How do great actors actually work? What do they actually do? Let’s find out!
I have been so fortunate to connect, work with, and learn from so many wonderful actors over the years, and I want to do what I can to share their talent, gifts, and wisdom as widely as I can.
How’s it going?
There have already been a few interviews recorded, and more are being scheduled—I’m very excited about these guests.
I’ve also been pleasantly surprised with how good the conversations are. As can often happen, there tends to be feelings of doubt or uncertainty (the guests have been GREAT—I’m talking about MY side of things), though as I get some distance and listen (for show notes, any edits, etc), I’m quite pleased with what’s been happening.
So far, I’ve talked with Robert Pine (CHiPs, Frozen, Independence Day, over 200 credits), Anne Gee Byrd (over 80 TV/film credits and multiple theatre awards), Geoffrey Wade (national theatre tours, Spielberg’s The BFG, teacher), and Nike Doukas (regional theatre, film, television, and teacher).

What’s Next?
So that I don’t give myself an aneurism attempting to keep up with a weekly schedule, AND so that there is plenty of content out there in a timely fashion, I’m planning to launch this once I have about 6 episodes recorded.
For now, the plan is to do a batch of episodes (hence the “project” term), and then re-evaluate: am I enjoying this? Are others? If the answer to both are “yes,” then we’ll see how to best continue.
As is par for the course, this work has already given me new ideas for at least TWO more podcasts! So…stay tuned. 🙂
